It was snowing.
It hasn't stopped snowing ever since.
I've shovelled a foot of it off the driveway already.
This is the color of my days now.

I remember Arizona fondly.


I want to be there now!


And to top it all off, I suddenly have a nasty head cold.  Aaaachooo!

When I was out earlier it was a bright sunny day.  By the time I finished lunch with two of my daughters, it was snowing.  When I got home in the early afternoon it was brightening up again.  Then, as you will see, in the last 20 minutes or so, the sky changed again.

Cotton as far as the eye could see.  To northerners like us, seeing cotton growing is cause for excitement, and picture taking.



Each plant had dozens of flower-shaped cotton balls and they were as soft and fluffy as the ones you buy in the drugstores

I usually don't worry too much about the safety of flying - the worse part for me is actually getting up into the air without having the plane shake all apart, but once that's accomplished, I'm fine.

We've been home bodies while in Arizona this week - venturing out of our air conditioned comfort only to shop or do chores like taking the car in for servicing, etc.

We're having an informal family reunion this weekend.  With me and Lloyd, our seven children, their spouses and children, there'll be 36 people involved as well as a couple of nieces and nephews and their spouses and kids who got wind of it and want to participate.

Yes, it was raining, but thanks to our enclosed patio Lloyd was able to cook on his new self-built (with navigational help from his patient wife) barbeque last night.

 We had a lovely drive home from Lethbridge today.  It took us 6 hours instead of the usual 5 because we stopped to take pictures along the way - it was a beautiful summer day in Alberta.

had ours done and pointed out all the houses around us and told us how many tires they had slashed.  We were lucky to get just one!  Everyone is reporting it to the police who told our neighbour that type='text'>Family Scare</title><summary type='text'>Our son, Rob, who lives near us in Edmonton, called this morning (we're 5 hours away in Lethbridge) to tell us of a fright their family had yesterday.
