Then, for Christmas, Lloyd gave me a little gadget that can convert slides and negative film to jpeg files. It hooks into a usb port on my computer. I slide the slide holder through the slot, follow the on screen instructions and in 2 seconds my slide is a jpeg file that I can edit and print. So much cheaper than taking them to a developer to get done.
I've been having such fun getting these slides into a usable form and reliving the memories the pictures bring back. Here's a sampling:

I have very few slides, lots of pictures, and now on the computer.
Personally I like pictures - that I can see and that I can go to any time I want.

We never took slides...i think we were at the end of that time.. I have pictures and more pictures....no slides!
Definitely pictures. I have a handful of slides of my son when he was a baby. Someone took them and gave them to me. They do get forgotten unfortunately. Great pictures you have!!

I've been sick. I'm feeling a little better now, so I thought I'd check in to see what's going on with you. Love your old photos and slides. Sounds like a neat contraption to transfer them. We have lots of VHS tapes from our camcorders we need to transfer. But we lost the box of tapes? Have fun with your trip down memory lane. Take care.

I'm glad to have technology to transfer those old film negatives into jpegs.
It reminds me of the contraption my husband wants, transfers old records into cd's/mp3's.
Now if he gets that for records .. I can get this for those tons of old negatives :)
I'm sure that somewhere packed away in my treasures there are lots of slides too. It seems to have been a popular thing to do at the time. I love that there is something that will convert them without having to take them someplace else. I'll have to look into that one. It's wonderful to come across some old pictures like yours and remember the good times they represent.

I have two lots of slides, taken on trips to New Zealand and Houston in 2001 ...... I'm waiting for the price of the gadget coming down a bit - or finding a friend who has one that I can borrow!
I'm a photo gal but mine are all on the PC now:) I have about 18 yrs worth of photos to organize into something nice. Both from the PC and my photo books.
What a wonderful gift to receive! I always get a giggle out of walking down memory lane like this. I sometimes look at myself and wonder who let me out of the house looking like that? :)
