ABCs of Me

.

I've been having a blogging block so I've resorted to stealing ideas from other blogs. This is one I came across a while ago, but I think it's fun and I hope that you'll follow suit so I can learn more about my bloggie friends. Thanks to http://aimee-weaver.blogspot.com/
for the inspiration!

.
.

A - Age: 62. But depending on the day I feel anywhere from 50 – 70....mostly 50s..

B - Bed size: Queen in Edmonton, Queen in Lethbridge, and King in Arizona.

C - Chore you hate: Vacuuming

.
D - Dogs names: Chippy when I was 6, and Lad after we had 3 kids.

.

E - Essential start your day item: Shower...feel grungy all day unless I shower and wash my hair first thing in the morning.

.

F - Favorite color:
Green...no...Blue...no blue/green!

.
G - Gold or Silver: Gold – preferably with diamonds.

.
H - Height: 5 ft 2 ½ ...... I used to be 5'4" but it appears I'm shrinking with age...at least vertically.

.
I - Instruments you play: Well, radio...stereo

...some iPod...do those count???

.

J - Job title: Grammie! I retired as Administrative Assistant to be Nanny to 3 (now 4) grandkids.

.

K - Kids: 5 girls, 2 boys...20 grandchildren.

.

L - Living arrangements: A basement suite in one daughter's home in Edmonton, AB...a cute little 2-bedroom bungalow that was built the same year DH was born, and that we'll move to when DH retires next year, in Lethbridge, AB...and a large 4-bedroom home (with pool) in Arizona that we go to as often as possible and plan to spend most of our winters in starting next year..

M - Mom's name: Meta Luellen. We used the Luellen as our daughter Amy's middle name. I think it's very pretty. Meta...not so much!

.

N - Nicknames: Pat the Brat – thanks to my sister when we were kids.

O - Overnight hospital stay other than birth: A couple of days for a kidney stone and several days after a hysterectomy.

.

P - Pet Peeve: People who are always right, even when they're wrong...at least in their own eyes.

.

Q - Quote from a movie: From TV...Seinfeld - "Always, Jerry"

.

R - Right or left handed: Left. None of my 7 kids are left-handed in spite of having two left-handed grandfathers and a left-handed mother, but each child has at least one left-handed child. We southpaws are supposed to be very creative people.

.

S - Siblings: 1 brother and 1 sister. I'm in the middle.

.

T - Time you wake up: Usually between 5:30 and 6:30. I like to have lots of time in the morning before I have to leave the house.

.

U - Underwear: Always, Jerry.

.

V - Vegetable you dislike: eggplant

.

W - What makes you run late: Spending too much time on the computer.

.

X - X-rays you've had: Hands and knees. Oh, and when my first daughter was 3-weeks late arriving I had an x-ray of her in utero. Amazing to see that. They didn't do ultrasounds 37 years ago.

.
Y - Yummy food you make: I used to make the most delicious home-made bread. And pies...every Thanksgiving I'd make 7 or 8 different pies.

.
Z - Zoo animal: Giraffes – they have such sweet faces and elegant bodies. We were able to feed some at the Wilderness Park in Surprise, AZ – awesome experience.

.

.

.

So, how about it. Who's up for sharing their own personal ABCs.

Can't do the ABCs tonight but I sure enjoyed reading yours! Learned a few new things about you! One more day off crossing off the to dos and we're gone for a week. Will miss out two Fridays but the last two made up for it. Lots of those leaves are all gone now!

Great post - I love it. Sometimes, simple things such as this make for really good blogs!

When I started thinking about my ABCs, it turns out that a lot of them are the same as yours. We're alike in more ways than I thought, including having to shower before doing anything else in the morning, and hating vacuuming - thankfully I married a man who considers that his contribution to keeping the house clean - and that's fine with me. However, I prefer silver to gold, and I only have one house, and 4kids. Enjoyed reading about yours though.

And the amazing x-ray fetus was born with superpowers! And a mutated kidney. And a love of eggplant.

It's a little early to tell with Hannah, but I don't think any of my kids are left-handed.

Oops! I didn't think this actually posted. I tried doing a blog post using MS Word but didn't like the way it put all those white spaces in and left out the little clip arts I included. Oh well. Glad you enjoyed it anyway.

What's not to like about eggplant? It takes on the flavour of whatever you cook it with. You should try it sometime.
And it's cute that your job title is Grammie.

And Emily...same with bean sprouts. They don't have their own flavour! You guys are weirdos!
