Arizona Snow

On our way to a scrapbook store in Peoria today, Mickey and I passed this field.

Field of Cotton

Cotton as far as the eye could see.  To northerners like us, seeing cotton growing is cause for excitement, and picture taking.

Each plant had dozens of flower-shaped cotton balls and they were as soft and fluffy as the ones you buy in the drugstores

So pretty and soft

On the left there's one ready to pop open.

And that was our sightseeing for today.

I love that field! It's not far from my house. Did you go to Crop Girls on Peoria and 97th?

Yes that's exactly where we were! Great store.
I've always seen cotton in different stages and never this beautiful! Now maybe you can tell us where the gorgeous fields of roses are so that we can try to photograph them. We've passed them without our cameras and now can't find them!

It definitely is as close to snow as you will likely see down here!

They have rose fields out here on the 303 by Surprise. Maybe there are some over by Peoria too. I love the cotton fields. The first time I came here I had to stop and take pictures. It still fascinates me. Glad it's not picked by hand any more. I think it's stickery. Rick saw 'em picking a field the other day. Nature has the best decorations ever, doesn't it.

That looks stunning. I have never seen a cotton field up close and personal. It does look like little snowballs all over the place. Wonderful. Take care.

Hi Pat,
I've finally dug myself out from the pile of visitors and holiday goings on. I enjoyed reading about all the fun you've had in Arizona. Personally, growing up in the deep South I'm very used to warm weather winter holidays. Don't mind them at all, lol! We had snow last year the day after Christmas and it was very pretty but kept our visitors away. Sigh...
Love those cotton fields...reminds me of home!
Hugs~

It is beautiful unless you have ever worked in a cotton field then it just looks painful.

What an amazing sight. I've never seen cotton fields before. And didn't realize that they grew it in Arizona.
I'm glad you shared the pictures with us today...they are just beautiful. Hope your Thursday is a wonderful one!

I'm glad you got to enjoy the cotton field. A lot of them have already been picked. Your shots are great.
Sorry you won't make it to Wickenburg, but I'm glad you're staying busy and enjoying your time together. We're having a little winter weather today though. :)

Those are cool pictures, Mom! The cotton looks pretty cool before it blooms too. - Mary
